Migratory Tales - Stories from Ancient Greece, Medieval Persia and Modern Syria

Een avond waarin verhalen van vluchtelingen versmelten met aloude mythes over omzwerving en migratie.
Deze voorstelling is geheel Engels gesproken, daarom is ook deze uitleg in het Engels.

In this evening, we blend the stories of refugees with ancient myths of wandering and migration. The intensity of this fusion helps us reflect on our own migration trail.

Simon Hodges, Dolan Jones and Gijs Anders van Straalen took two stories on a word and music walkabout in March, selling out two nights at De Ruimte. They now return with fresh new myths in the stunning new location of TOON.

The stories of Leila & Majnun and Zeus & Io bring us into contact with an older view of the grief of departure, and finding our own unique way to an inward home.

The night is also staged in support of Delitelabs – an entrepreneurial campus for newly arrived refugees. In the build up to the event Simon will be working directly with refugees on their own personal stories and during the evening we’ll be hearing from two of these. €2 of the ticket price goes directly to Delite Labs, and we’ll also collect donations to further their brilliant work.

You are invited to join us on this exploration of myth, fused with real life journeys to somehow make sense of the mad times we live in.
